Public map listings
6,649 unclaimed listings are curated from OpenStreetMap. Place data © OpenStreetMap contributors and is subject to the Open Database License (ODbL). The directory JSON includes both map-derived listings and a few explicitly identified Dinify partner records. The ODbL applies to the OpenStreetMap-derived portion; connected Dinify menu text and prices come from the restaurant's Dinify account and are not included in this directory download.
How listings are selected
We select public map records with a name, city, street address, coordinates and a usable restaurant website. We filter obvious chains, duplicate locations, social profiles and delivery intermediaries. We do not publish source email or operator fields, and pages for restaurants not on Dinify carry no links to outside ordering or menu sites.
In Greater Victoria most map records have no city name, so we list places inside the core municipalities (Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay, Esquimalt, View Royal, Langford and Colwood) under Victoria, the mailing city Canada Post uses there. Where the map names the municipality, the address on the page shows it.
Connected restaurant menus
Our Dinify partner pages are linked to reviewed, existing Dinify restaurant accounts. Menu items and prices are requested from the restaurant's public Dinify menu endpoint and labelled as such. A Dinify partner badge means the restaurant uses Dinify; it does not claim the owner has reviewed every detail of this Local page. Ordering is linked only when we have separately checked that the Dinify ordering path is enabled. Restaurants confirm final prices and availability.
Menu highlights on unclaimed pages
Where a restaurant has published a menu page on its own website, some unclaimed pages show a few dish names and prices read from that page, with the source site and the date we read it. We read only the menu link the restaurant published itself, honour its robots.txt, keep names and prices only (no descriptions or photos), and re-check at most once every 30 days. Prices may have changed since; the full menu is always the restaurant's own page. A restaurant can have these removed or replaced with its live menu by claiming the page.
Live details on partner pages
A Dinify partner page can also show the restaurant's open or closed status, hours and running offers, read from its Dinify system when you load the page. When that connection is not available, the page shows the menu without them.
If a restaurant turns on a menu assistant here, your questions go to that restaurant's assistant to produce an answer and are not stored by Dinify Local. If a restaurant chooses to share its most ordered dishes, we show dish names and counts only, never who ordered.
Keeping it accurate
Restaurant owners and diners can suggest a correction. An owner can request removal. We verify a requester's relationship to the restaurant before changing a listing. For an urgent privacy concern, contact info@dinify.ca.

No Google Places photos, ratings, reviews or hours are reproduced here. Dinify Local's design, original copy, code and decorative image are separate from the public place data.
